Face Series

Women in history have continuously been under-appreciated for their work. Rosalind Franklin, the woman whose work helped the understanding of DNA, was over shadowed by men who used her data. Those men won the Nobel Prize and are now known for discovering DNA. Lisa Meitner discovered nuclear fission, and her male partner won the Nobel Prize for her work. Shirley Chisholm was the first black woman elected to Congress. Her accomplishments were overshadowed and underestimated in the Congressional Black Caucus and predominantly male-led Civil Rights Movement due to her being a black woman. Women have been and continue to be some of the most capable, intelligent, and innovative people. Their stories, accomplishments, and faces deserve to be recognized.
